We did not all come from the same background,
We do not share the same experiences,
We are who we are,
I love my heritage,
Being proud of who YOU are, is all that you can DO,
I appreciate both of my halves,
However, you take that is up TO you,
Growing up I had no idea that there were others like me,
Society is very black and white,
But what about the gray areas,
There are gray areas,
We should not be forced to fit into only ONE category,
I identify with TWO things not ONE,
And I'm ok with that,
We do not know how it feels to be something else unless we are that,
I can share my knowledge about what I know,
That's pretty much it,
I can empathize,
I am who I am,
I love every bit of me,
I had to learn that I am who I am,
I cannot compare myself to others, we were not the same,
That came with wisdom and age,
I love everything about me,
I love how my hair curls up when I get it wet,
I love the curly roots in my scalp,
I love the frizziness, kinkyness, puffiness,
I love how it lays and sticks up at the same time,
I love my wild baby hairs,
I love my curls,
I sometimes like to straighten it,
Not because I'm trying to conform, but because I like diversity,
My hair isn't corse like my mother or fine like my father's, but it's mines,
And I am very happy with that..
To be continued..
